A safari in the Royal Chitwan National Park makes an interesting and exciting addition to any of our expeditions in Nepa. The park is situated halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara in the lowland region known as the ‘terai’. We stay in jungle lodges where we are entertained by local people who demonstrate many aspects of the culture and folklore of the region. During the day you will be able to explore the jungle on elephant back and by boat with the chance to see a variety of wildlife: white rhinoceros, tigers, monkeys, deer etc.
A good plan is to add the jungle trip on to the end of a trekking, rafting or biking trip. We recommend three days in the jungle as the ideal length of time to enjoy the experience.
