We are able to offer a range of treks in various parts of the country ranging in length from 7 to 21 days. As we travel via Kathmandu we recommend a combination of activities in Nepal and Tibet. Since the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu requires a minimum of three working days to process the group visa we have to spend a certain amount of time there in any case. This does have the advantage of providing contrasting experiences in both countries. A short trek in Nepal will help with acclimatisation which will make the transition to the height of Lhasa (3800m) much easier. This in turn will lead to a more enjoyable time as you climb the many steps in the monasteries.

Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet

The Potala Palace, surely one of the most exciting sights in the world. This was the main dwelling-place of the Dalai Lama until his departure from Tibet in the 1950s. With 13 stories, 1,000 rooms and countless treasures, visitors could spend the whole of their visit just looking around this building.

Cho Oyu in the centre, with Mount Everest behind and to the left, from the Friendship Highway at Tinggri. Our most popular Tibet expedition visits Everest Base Camp from near here on the drive from Lhasa back to Kathmandu.
